Mike Boudreau

“Gold Seal challenges you to get out there and get the credits you need, it helps you separate yourself from the rest of the pack… you can put the letters in your email signature and professionals know what it is. It stands out, you set yourself apart. The education is a huge benefit; it forces you to take education that is past your college/university degree to have you prepared and certified to do your job. It’s something to strive for.”

Mike Boudreau, GSC, Project Manager, East Coast Sheet Metal

Mike is a project manager for East Coast Sheet Metal located in Atlantic Canada. They are primarily an HVAC contractor, subcontracting other mechanical trades. Daily, Mike schedules projects in the fabrication shop, attends job meetings, works with site staff to deliver the projects on time and on budget. Mike enjoys what he does and has a passion for the construction industry. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to take part in. I knew from a young age I wanted to build bridges or buildings, I just really wanted to get involved in constructing something regardless of what the position would be. It happens I’ve built myself a cool career out of it and I really enjoy what I do”.

Mike’s favorite aspect of his job is the interaction with people. He’s managed multiple projects over the years and every project there are different project teams and different goals every time. “Every day, you get to work and build something that you can drive by at the end of the day and say, ‘I was involved in that project for a certain amount of time’ and feel pride.”

Mike discovered the Gold Seal Certification through his first employer, who were big supporters of the Gold Seal Certification. “From my initial introduction to the construction industry achieving the Gold Seal Certification was on my mind. It was something that someday, when I got my education credits, and put my time in, it would be something I could achieve.”

It’s industry recognized. It sets a standard, it gets you recognized. People see it, and they know that you put the time in and you’re dedicated to the industry. It’s a wonderful display of the kind of individual and worker you are.”
