Matt Lothian

“Having those three letters beside my name gives me credibility in the industry because being Gold Seal Certified gives me a total project perspective. It is now easier for me to get my point across, allowing me to help develop programs, coordinate different site issues, and help the supervisors be more aware of health and safety concerns.”

Matt Lothian, GSC, Safety Advisor, Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM)

As a safety advisor with the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba, Matt Lothian is the main point of contact for questions and inquiries regarding COR™ audits, legislation and workplace safety. Matt is responsible for audits, developing courses, and training.

Matt began his career as a welder in 2007, and in 2017, completed his Gold Seal Certification (GSC). Matt believes the GSC training allows him to see things from other peoples’ point of view and spot different things on site.

“I wish I had done it earlier! It would have given me more respect, and it would have been easier to get my opinions heard when I was just starting out.”

Matt is now recognized across Canada as a construction management professional. He’s in a great position for future career growth wherever his career takes him.

“It’s a way to say you have put in the time and effort to be the best.”
