Lori’s journey towards a career in construction started when she became interested in architecture. She registered into a college program in civil engineering. When she began working in her field she enjoyed and preferred the project management side of the industry a lot more. Lori is the first in her family to work in the Construction Industry and is proud to be a Project Manager for Defence Construction Canada.
Later in her career, advancement became a personal goal for Lori. After discovering the existence of Gold Seal Certification, and researching its benefits, she knew that her out-of-pocket expense to earn her Gold Seal Certification would pay off in the long run. In June 2015, Lori earned her Gold Seal Certification. Her newly earned credential is what helped her when applying to, and successfully obtaining, her current job. Her Gold Seal Certification helped her stand above the competition!
After speaking with Lori, it’s obvious she is a very driven individual. By setting goals for herself, and working towards accomplishing them, Lori has been able to strive for and find success. She stated: “if there were other educational steps to take in my career to help me, I would absolutely take them.”
After earning her Gold Seal certification, Lori experienced the following benefits: recognition for her credentials and abilities, boosted confidence, and even more personal pride in her ongoing accomplishments. Finally, Lori also experienced relief and assurance knowing that after 8 years of experience in the industry, as well as accomplishing the course work, she is more prepared to face her daily work tasks.
