Chad is the Branch Manager at Ardel Steel in Regina, Saskatchewan. His role includes overseeing the day to day operations of the reinforcing steel fabrication, installation, safety and sales teams.
Chad began his career with Ardel Steel after graduating from SIAST from Computer Aided Design & Drafting Technology. “I’ve been working in the reinforcing industry for 19 years with the company. In this day in age, it’s not as common to see someone work for the same company. But, it’s part of my life and I’m passionate about what I do.”
As part of his motivation, Chad desired to grow in his role and become a knowledgeable in his field. That included acquiring and learning industry standards and common practices. “As I developed, I felt it was important for to be able to learn and stay up to date with changes and technological advances in the industry. People eventually started looking up to me for answers. That allowed me to progress into other areas of the business, estimating and sales. I became proficient in providing accurate estimates and qualifications. Sales was a natural progression for me. Now, I feel satisfaction in being able to pass along my knowledge and guide others who have the same passion as I do.” That’s when Chad discovered the Gold Seal Certification. “the certification has been around for longer than I have been working. I saw others in the construction industry were getting their Gold Seal Certification and I added it to my goals. I got a point where I said ‘I’m going to do it this year’. It’s been on my list for 5 years and eventually compiled the knowledge and information needed to write the exam.”
Chad obtained his Gold Seal Certification in January 2017.
“I feel satisfaction knowing that I have put in the time and effort into achieving a career goal. It’s worthwhile to do. Continue your pursuit for betterment in the industry. The Gold Seal Certification is a great way for you to set goals and continue your education. Always set your sights on a goal, reach a point where you’re able to apply, and get yourself certified. It’s a personal and industry achievement that is satisfying. It’s well worth putting the time and effort into.”
