Andrew Moles

“Don’t wait to get your Gold Seal Certification. Get your experience, get your courses in because they’re a big piece of what you require to qualify for it. The test is very practical and relatable to your experience. If you know your role and you’re good at your job, you’ll do great!”

Andrew Moles, GSC, Manager, Renewable Energy Division at PCL, Toronto

Aspiring for a greener eco-friendly future, Andrew manages the renewable energy division at PCL in Toronto, Canada. His career began during his architectural technology degree, where he chose to specialize in Construction Management. His program allowed him to pursue a CO-OP position which permitted him to join PCL. He has been working there ever since. Currently, he is tasked with assisting the expansion of the company across the country, including the UnitedStates and Caribbean. His role also includes managing client relations, managing proposals, budgeting, execution of projects, and general management of day to day operations.

While in school, Andrew discovered the Gold Seal Certification. “Part of why PCL was my top employer choice was because of how many Gold Seal Certification courses were offered inhouse.” It was clear that Andrew had set himself a goal, which was to earn the industry standard golden certification. In January 2015, Andrew earned his Gold Seal Certification with the help of his employer.

“The Gold Seal Certification is something I’ve always wanted to do as soon as I heard about it. It’s well respected across Canada. It’s something most of our project managers at PCL aspire to get in their career. As soon as I found out I qualified, I signed up. I was pretty proud when I got my certification. I was happy when I received my confirmation in the mail stating I passed.”
