Invest in Canada
Current campaigning by all parties on the election trail has been rather weak on policies, mostly due to the attention being placed on issues related to the pandemic and the ongoing situation in Afghanistan. That is why it is important that members from across the country ensure that infrastructure investment is a priority of the newly elected government. It’s in this spirit that the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) launched our advocacy campaign under the theme Invest in Canada. Invest in Canadians. Invest in Infrastructure.
By the numbers
Latest polls show the Conservatives are leading voting intentions at 33.5 per cent, with the Liberals still presenting a challenge at 31.6 per cent, and the NDP trailing behind at 20 per cent (CBC Poll Tracker, Sept. 10, 2021). While the Conservatives are ahead in vote intentions, these numbers do not directly translate to seats projections. As the Liberals remain ahead in Ontario, Québec and Atlantic Canada, it is projected that they could form the government without leading the popular vote. However, this small lead in seat projections could easily vanish over the next week, especially if the Conservatives manage to secure additional support in regions that are traditionally Liberal.
