Hill Day 2021 shows industry is firmly focused on building for the future
November 30 marked CCA’s annual Hill Day, a hallmark of our advocacy activities. CCA members from across the country, representing different sectors of the industry, met with parliamentarians from all parties and regions to champion construction and reaffirm the value of the industry to Canada’s economic growth.
With safety in mind and respecting public health restrictions and regulations, we conducted this year’s Hill Day in a hybrid format where meetings were held both in person and virtually.
Over 50 industry experts met with close to 80 parliamentarians over a single day. CCA was pleased to be one of the first national associations to connect with new and returning parliamentarians after the electoral recess, to discuss important issues facing the Canadian economy.
CCA members raised a number of core issues with cabinet ministers, MPs and senators, including the need for long-term, strategic investment in infrastructure; improvements to the procurement process so it is fair, transparent and supports value and innovation; and boosting workforce capacity by helping the industry recruit, train and retain tomorrow’s workforce.
By working together on these key issues and common goals, we can build a brighter and better future – one that supports sustainable growth and benefits all Canadians. Learn more about CCA’s Invest in Canada campaign.
