Advocacy ALERT

Government seeks your input on emissions reporting

Canada’s pledge to reach net zero by 2050 will have a major impact on the business of construction, potentially calling for environmental performance and carbon emission reporting to help the government deliver on its targets.

Make your views known to the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) by responding to the Request for Information (RFI) on how to incentivize major suppliers to adopt science-based targets and to disclose greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and environmental performance information.

This is your opportunity to provide input into any potential future requirements the government may place on industry and comment on a potential path forward.

Learn more about the Canadian construction industry’s request for stronger federal investment and policies that support building sustainably in our research paper, Strength, resilience, sustainability: Canada’s construction sector recommendations on adapting to climate change, published in March 2021.
