Federal election, best practices, and SignaSur in focus for CCA’s Board

Getting ready for the next Federal Election

On September 12, the Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) Board of Directors met in Saskatoon for their fall meeting. This was an opportunity for the Board to discuss the upcoming Federal Election and refine our messaging and strategy for the next campaign. As the political environment is quickly evolving in Ottawa, the Board solidified our strategy and finalized the plan. It was the opportunity to confirm that infrastructure investment, procurement modernization, and workforce development remain the main issues to be promoted during the next campaign.

Board approved 2025 CCA plan and budget

As we look to next year, CCA will implement a modest two per cent membership fee increase.

Best practices: Building a better environment for our members to thrive

SignaSur and Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) documents were intensively discussed. CCA is working closely with our integrated partners to deliver fair and balanced contracts to the industry. In the next few weeks, members can access a new bulletin and digital documents.

The Board also approved the publication of the “Construction playbook: Public procurement risk allocation” report developed by the General Contractors National Advisory Council. The report will be released in early October.

Engagement: Stronger together

On Wednesday night, before the meeting, the CCA Board of Directors met with the local and provincial associations to discuss collaboration and support for the organizations. Advocacy, member value, and engagement were at the centre of our discussions. We all concluded that we are stronger together.

Partner Association reports: A nationwide overview

The Board of Directors deeply values the updates and insights our partners provide in their summaries of key activities within their communities. These reports help the Board stay informed about the industry across the country and what is most important to our members.
