FOCUS on Best Practices

Don’t miss July DCC seminar on GHG procurement standards

Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is inviting CCA members to an information seminar on new procurement standards related to the disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions and the establishment of reduction targets for contract opportunities over $25 million.

Sessions are being held on July 4, 2024 and will be hosted on Microsoft Teams.

If you would like to participate, please register by contacting orocontracting@dcc-cdc.gc.ca and including the subject line “Registration for TB standard info session.” Please include your company name and the time of which session you would like to take part in. You will then receive a link to the information session by return correspondence.

The sessions will cover the standard’s requirements, DCC’s plans to incorporate these into future procurements, and the Carbon Neutral Challenge details.

The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Disclosure and Targeting Standard (GHGEDTS) on new tender opportunities (>$25M) would mandate that for procurement processes over $25 million, DCC must ensure suppliers measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and set science-based reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement. This involves participation in the Carbon Neutral Challenge or a similar initiative. Environment and Climate Change Canada will also be participating in these sessions to provide information on the Carbon Neutral Challenge.
