CHEP Canada
CHEP is the world leader in pallet and container pooling services, serving many of the world’s largest companies. CHEP issues, collects, conditions and reissues more than 285 million pallets and containers from a global network of more than 500 service centers in 42 countries, helping manufacturers and growers transport their products to distributors and retailers. CHEP’s business model is inherently sustainable. By using our pooled assets and sustainability solutions, our customers’ supply chains become more efficient in terms of cost and use of natural resources. In 2019, CHEP launched “Zero Waste World” an initiative to bring together many of the world’s major companies in a group effort to address the three main challenges facing our supply chain.
Jancon Construction Ltd was awarded this 16,000 sq ft Construction Management Project which included construction of an interior mezzanine and renovation of the offices over two floors including new café style lunchroom and state of the art equipped boardroom and meeting rooms. In collaboration with Kirsh Design and MAD Inc as well as Green Reasons and Cushman & Wakefield, this project incorporates many sustainable elements that CHEP holds in such high regard. With full LED lighting, use of sustainable materials, reused pallets were not only used to create feature walls but were used by local GTA company to create new light fixtures. The project was completed with the best green building practices for project sequencing and achieved a 90% recycling percentage of construction waste. It is clear that all stakeholders involved in the CHEP office job prioritize the use of sustainable construction practices and materials from the initial design conception through completion of the build out.
The CHEP Canada head office project has applied and is waiting for certified LEED status from the Canada Green Building Council.
