Canada’s construction industry is hopeful that the Prime Minister and his cabinet will show leadership by championing long-term investments in trade-enabling infrastructure, address skilled labour shortages, and support the critical projects that connect Canadians.
QUÉBEC CITY, March 14, 2025
The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) would like to congratulate Mark Carney, the 24th Prime Minister of Canada, and his cabinet, who were officially sworn in today.
“We look forward to working together with the new leadership to continue advancing our industry’s priorities,” said Rodrigue Gilbert, President of the CCA.
CCA engages with the federal government on a regular basis to ensure that the voices of our 57 local construction associations and 18,000 member firms are heard. We are hopeful that this new federal government will continue to consult with industry, especially amidst complex global economic headwinds.
During his leadership campaign, Prime Minister Carney made various promises, including building more homes, expanding clean energy systems, and strengthening trade-enabling infrastructure. Canada’s construction industry strongly supports these priorities and is ready to work and collaborate with the federal government to make it happen.
“During these particularly complicated times, the federal government must ensure that every solution is shaped by our industry’s expertise and its real priorities,” said Gilbert. “We look forward to continue working alongside the federal government and other partners to Build a Better Canada.”
